This is my... shrine? Additional babbling place? Spoilery place for my fanfic Toying With You!

How Toying With You came to be

Before I was writing TWY, I had been writing a different fanfiction that was basically 'Mk messes with an artifact and summons a warrior from another world... who's freaked out by now being a lego'. I liked my original idea on it, but when I had been writing it, it ended up feeling a lot more mean and panic than I had originally meant so I dropped that scrap and decided to try again. Then I read a bunch of other LMK isekaid fanfic and was like 'Pbpbpbpbpb >:c, everyone's writing this episode by episode without doing anything cool with it. Guess this is my time to shine bby!' and started writing TWY. I can definetly feel the influence of that first fanfic on this one, ha ha! Atleast this time the freaking out is less... overwhelming dread and more so... with a purpose?

Fun fact, TWY was originally going to be a romance (since that's my usual thing), but I changed my mind in the first few chapters. It was originally going to be a reverse harem (hehehe, which is why I have that joke in the first chapter), buuut that was early stages of me writing things down. Pre- me even deciding I'd post it online. I decided against romance because I wanted a story that satisfied the ace side of me that just wants Action and Drama WITHOUT the romance. hehehe. OH! And it was going to be called Toying With Hearts instead. heheheheh.

Why green skin?

So I can make green eggs and ham jokes, duh. Nah, kidding. Really it's more like... I wanted a character most people could physically project onto "easily". You're no longer human, and are now "lego" height. You're hair length irl? Doesn't matter, now you're hair is magically too long to deal with and you want to cut it to size. Phsyical sex? Literally gone, you're lego doll smooth down there now. Skin color? Green. Any shade of green YOU want, but it is green. Because green isn't a human color "charged" like the others. Pink is girly, blue is boyly, red is alien and angry, yellow is literally the main skin color in lego world, purple is usually associated with black coded characters. Green? Green is sick and envious and undead and life and greed. Green's a lot more fluid, depending on shade and everything else around it. You are green. Eggs Benedicts is green.

But for story purposes? Well it has a lot to do with how Eggs came to this world, so I might talk about that later ;3

I do have my own version of Eggs, btw. As counter intuitive as it is, lol. I was mostly just wanting to draw them (shrug). (Oh, and no, they don't look how I look, not even remotely)

Two versions of a green lego character. One has it's hair fluffy and long, all the way to the ground, that they're trying to hold out of their eyes. They look disgruntled, are wearing a stained white sleeveless shirt and green jeans. Above them is a cloud with a lightning bolt. The second version is wearing the same clothing, but looks noticbly happier. Their hair it tied up into a a fluffy bun with a hair stick, though the hair is still noticibly messy. They're carrying a green blanket in one arm, and waving to the viewer with the other. Small pink flowers float above their head to show their happyness.

So what is TWY secretly about?

TWY is called a self insert, but as you've probably realised it isn't actually. It's an author insert (with some character changes, flaws made worse, some likes and dislikes changed, etc.) that everyone else gets to ride along with. Hehehe, sorry not sorry for tricking you. (It's partly why I included 'Ava' (an undertale fanfic) in the inspired by list. It's because it's about 'Ava', but I'm pretty sure it really is just the author with a little magic pazzaz. Not the most beloved person in the universe, just... the author having fun being part of the drama while being cool. Look. It's, it's a very niche and cool fanfic genre that is totally not just me being wowed by the fanfic. 'Okay, Lego Monkie Kid. This Won't Kill You. Probably.' is pretty much the same thing, but lego specific!)

So then... why call it a self insert when it isn't? Cause I'm wanting the views tm? Hehehe, yesss, but noooo. It's... well it's basically a story where the reader is meant to see themselves making non-heroic choices while not feeling like it isn't something they would do. I'm trying to do a cheat-y writing trick (which might or might not work out) to have the reader avoid feeling guilty about themself while also helping them see another viewpoint and choice they might never think about doing themself.

Said choice being choosing to be human, instead of doing the safe thing. Which I'll talk about in the next section!

(Hah, I should probably re-write this all later. ah well.)

Yeah, I know, preachy or... over the top? Eh. Kinda has to be in this case, specially since I'm not good at describing things (ironically, hah!)

ok this one isn't art, but I found it funny just finding this random eggs cd by my apartment. Appearently eggs spinelli is a book? So i guess that the cd would have been an audio book, but someone's taken it before I could stupidly find out (lol)
